Week 1 REsults

Thu, Sep 4

  • Cowboys 20 @ Eagles 24 — Eagles (over 42)

    • This game played out as expected with the Eagles getting the victory and the game hit the over. I think the Cowboys will miss Micah Parsons this season.

Fri, Sep 5 (São Paulo)

  • Chiefs 21 vs Chargers 27 —  Chargers (Under 40)

    • Chargers pull out the win with a great scramble by Herbert to close the game out. We were wrong about the under as these two teams were able to move the ball. The Chargers did a great job attacking the secondary in this game and played into the weakness on the Chiefs defense.

Sun, Sep 7

  • Buccaneers 23 @ Falcons 20 — Falcons (Under 47.5)

    • The Bucs pulled out the victory. We were wrong in the prediction, but it did feel like a close game as predicted.

  • Bengals 17 @ Browns 16 —  Bengals (under 47.5)

    • We were correct with the Bengals and the under, however, it took a bit of luck with the misfortunes of the Browns kicker. The Browns could not establish a running game, but their defense did well keeping the Bengals in check.

  • Dolphins 8 @ Colts 33  — Dolphins (over 46.5)

    • This was a miss on point total and the winner. The Dolphins had trouble generating any offense which prevented this point total from reaching the over. They will have to figure something out or McDaniels will be looking for a new job.

  • Panthers 10 @ Jaguars 26 — Jaguars (over 46.5)

    • We were correct with the winner but missed on the over since the Panthers did not show any signs of progression with Young’s development. This looked like the Panthers from the early half of last season, not the end. Hopefully they will feel inspired and work towards better execution on the offense. Jaguars were in control of this game and did not have to open up the playbook too much since the defense was stalling the Panthers. As a result, Etienne had an amazing day with over 140 yards rushing.

  • Raiders 20 @ Patriots 13 — Raiders (under 44.0)

    • The Raiders showed poise in this game both on offense and defense. They came out moving the ball well on offense and defense forced Maye to make enough mistakes to keep the Patriots offense in control. We were correct in both winner and point total in this matchup.

  • Cardinals 20 @ Saints 13 — Cardinals (under 43.5)

    • The Cardinals were able to control this game and keep the Saints offense in check. We were correct in the winner and the point total on this one.

  • Steelers 34 @ Jets 32 — Jets (under 38)

    • This game turned into a shootout and Rodgers got his revenge game win over the Jets. We were wrong with the winner and the point total on this one

  • Giants 6 @ Commanders 21 — Commanders (over 45.5)

    • The Commanders beat the Giants who were unable to get much going against the Commanders. The Commander’s defense stepped up and held the Giants offense in check while the ground game provided enough offense to beat the Giants. We did not get the point total correct due to the lack of offense from the Giants, but we did get the winner correct. Dabol’s seat may be warming up and expect him to switch to the rookie QB at some point soon given the poor showing from Wilson.

  • Titans 12 @ Broncos 20 — Broncos (under 42)

    • We were correct in the point total and winner in this game. The Broncos defense easily handled the Titans offense and a simple run game was able to control the game script in this one. Some of the mistakes from Bo Nix did not cost them anything in this one, just take it as a learning lesson game for Nix and move on.

  • 49ers 17 @ Seahawks 13 — 49ers (under 43.5)

    • We were correct in the point total and winner in this game, but just barely with how the Niners offense was playing. I’d expect a change at kicker sometime this season for the Niners.

  • Lions 13 @ Packers 27 — Lions (under 48)

    • We were correct with the under, but wrong with the victor. The Lions struggled on both sides of the ball in this loss. The Packers look to be a dominant team in the NFC with the addition of Micah Parsons on defense. The NFC should be on notice for who team to beat will be.

  • Texans 9 @ Rams 14 — Texans (under 43)

    • We were incorrect in the winner, but correct with the under point total. The Texans struggled against the Rams defense which shows growth and improvement. The Rams fed Nacua well which was enough to pull out the win. Stafford’s back held up and he was able to make his throws. The Rams look poised to win the NFC West this year.

  • Ravens 40 @ Bills 41 — Ravens (over 51)

    • Another great game between these two and the team with the ball last won the game as predicted. It just was not the Ravens. Josh Allen’s hero ball did great and this will be the game people talk about when discussing MVP this year. We were correct in the point total.

Mon, Sep 8

  • Vikings 27 @ Bears 24 — Vikings (under 44)

    • The Vikings came back in an exciting fashion. The Bears were winning every facet of the game through 3 quarters, but JJ McCarthy showed his magic leading his team to victory. We had the right victor but incorrect point total.
